BREAKING: NFL issues a 10-year ban to a Seahawks fan after a “nude” security breach and on-field intrusion that disrupted Super Bowl LX
Santa Clara, California – Super Bowl LX, held on February 8, 2026 at Levi’s Stadium, did not only conclude in the ceremonial atmosphere of the NFL championship game, but was also interrupted by a rare security incident. A fan breached the security barrier and ran onto the field, prompting a swift and forceful response from the NFL.
The incident occurred during a stoppage in play, when a shirtless man suddenly entered the field of play. The act caused a stir throughout the stadium and disrupted the flow of the game on the biggest stage in American football, where security protocols are normally enforced at the highest level.

The man was fast enough to evade the initial wave of stadium security. However, he could not get past Kyle Williams, a wide receiver for the New England Patriots. Recognizing that security personnel needed assistance, Williams immediately gave chase and subdued the streaker with a burst of speed that led many to compare him to Deion Sanders in his prime.
The individual responsible for the disturbance was later identified as Josh Smith, 32, a loyal fan of the Seattle Seahawks. According to initial information, Smith stated that he was swept up by the pageantry of the Super Bowl and the intense momentum of the Seahawks, leading to an impulsive and uncontrolled act.

Law enforcement officials quickly regained control of the situation and escorted Smith out of Levi’s Stadium. The incident was promptly reported to the NFL, as the league remains under significant pressure to ensure absolute safety for players, officials, and the tens of thousands of spectators in attendance.
Just 12 hours after the incident, the NFL announced its official punishment: Josh Smith has been banned from attending all official NFL games for a period of 10 years. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated: “Any act of field intrusion puts players, officials, and fans at risk. The NFL will not tolerate behavior that compromises the integrity and safety of the game, especially on a stage as large as the Super Bowl.”
While the incident did not affect the competitive outcome of the game, it stands as a clear warning regarding discipline and security at major NFL events. On a night meant to celebrate the highest level of football, one fan’s impulsive action resulted in a decade-long ban from the league.
