Buffalo Bills officially “enter the fray” in the race for the young star with top-tier NFL speed – HC Sean McDermott declares: “We’re not here to bargain, we’re here to win.”
Buffalo, New York – October 29, 2025
The Buffalo Bills are making headlines across the NFL as they gear up for a full-force push at the trade deadline, with one name standing out above all others — Rashid Shaheed, the explosive wide receiver from the New Orleans Saints who’s drawing interest from multiple teams.

At just 26 years old, Shaheed has built a reputation as one of the league’s premier deep-threat receivers, known for his blistering speed and ability to flip a game with a single play. In New Orleans, he’s become a highlight machine with multiple 50+ yard touchdowns and boasts one of the fastest recorded speeds in the NFL (22.6 mph).
According to ESPN reports, the Bills have formally reached out to the Saints to explore a potential deal, as the team continues to search for a true offensive spark following Stefon Diggs’ departure. While Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid, and rookie Keon Coleman have performed admirably, head coach Sean McDermott believes that Shaheed could be the missing piece to unlock Buffalo’s full potential.
“This is going to be a real battle — no different from what happens on the field,” McDermott said in Tuesday’s press conference. “We’re going to put everything we’ve got into this pursuit. Rashid is the kind of player who changes games with one snap, and that’s exactly what Buffalo needs right now.”
Sources inside the organization revealed that the Bills are prepared to offer a trade package including a 2026 fourth-round pick and a compensatory fifth-round pick, though the Saints are reportedly holding out for higher compensation.
At 4–3, the Bills remain locked in a tight AFC East race with the Patriots and Jets, and this move could prove to be the defining play of their season.
If the deal goes through, Shaheed’s elite speed, fluid route running, and big-play instincts could make him the ultimate weapon alongside Josh Allen, restoring the high-octane offense that once terrorized the league.
“We’re not looking for miracles,” McDermott concluded. “We’re making a statement — that Buffalo doesn’t back down from a fight, especially when everything’s on the line.”
