INJURY UPDATE: Seahawks Star Center – the Player Who Allowed Just 1 Sack in 20 NFL Games – to End Season Early With Knee Injury Suffered in Win Over Cardinals; Head Coach Mike Macdonald Admits It’s “the Most Painful Blow” to Seattle’s Offense.
Seattle, Washington – 11/11/2025
Devastating news struck the Seattle Seahawks just a day after their dominant 44–22 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Star center Jalen Sundell, one of the most reliable anchors of Seattle’s offensive line and a player who has allowed just one sack in 20 NFL games, has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a severe knee injury.

During Monday’s press conference, head coach Mike Macdonald couldn’t hide his disappointment as he confirmed the diagnosis.
“This is truly the toughest blow to our offense this year,” Macdonald said. “Jalen is the foundation of our offensive line. He plays with grit, intelligence, and toughness — a true leader on and off the field. Losing him at this point in the season is incredibly difficult.”
Sundell went down in the third quarter after a hard collision in the middle of the line. He was helped off the field by medical staff and later diagnosed with a torn knee ligament that will require immediate surgery. The team has confirmed that he will miss the remainder of the 2025 season.
“You can’t replace a player like Jalen,” Macdonald added. “But what we can do is fight for him — play with the same discipline, heart, and consistency he brought to this team every single day.”
Before the injury, Sundell had been the cornerstone of Seattle’s offensive unit, providing elite protection for quarterback Sam Darnold and paving lanes for the run game. His steadiness and technical precision were key factors behind Seattle’s rise as one of the most efficient offenses in the NFC this season.
Moving forward, Olu Oluwatimi will take over as the starting center, while Christian Haynes could be activated soon to strengthen the interior depth.
With a 7–2 record, the Seahawks remain atop the NFC West, but Sundell’s loss will be a major test of the team’s depth and resilience.
“Jalen isn’t just a great player,” Macdonald concluded. “He’s the soul of this offensive line — and from now on, we’ll keep fighting for him.”
