The 2026 NFL Honors race took an unexpected turn when TJ Watt, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defensive star, was shockingly left off the official list of finalists for the prestigious Defensive Player of the Year award. However, the real buzz came not from the NFL, but from an emotional response by his wife, Dani Watt, that quickly went viral across social media.

In a Thursday interview following the announcement, Dani Watt made a powerful statement that caught the attention of Steelers fans and the broader NFL community alike. With just seven simple words, she addressed the exclusion of her husband, creating a wave of support and solidarity for the Steelers' defensive leader.

"Forever proud of you. Always. No matter what."

The seven words were all it took to express Dani’s unwavering support for TJ in the face of what many considered a snub. While the exclusion of TJ Watt from the top finalists for the NFL Honors, especially after a stellar 2025 season where he posted 17 sacks and led the Steelers defense, left many fans stunned, Dani’s message captured the essence of loyalty and love that transcends individual accolades.

TJ Watt had been a top contender for the award, after a season that saw him dominate the pass rush and anchor Pittsburgh’s defense. His omission from the finalists was met with widespread disbelief, with many questioning the criteria and process behind the voting.

Dani Watt’s response was met with an outpouring of support from Steelers Nation and beyond. Fans flooded social media, praising her for standing by her husband with such a concise yet powerful expression of love and pride.

TJ Watt’s absence from the NFL Honors finalists may have been a surprise, but Dani’s seven-word statement reminded everyone that family, pride, and commitment to each other are the true honors that last beyond any trophy or recognition. While the NFL may have overlooked him, for Dani, TJ will always be a winner.

New York Yankees Re-sign Gold Glove Award OF Just 12 Hours After Cutting Contract
February 6, 2026 The New York Yankees have made their move to bring back outfielder Austin Slater after his short stint with the team last year. The New York Yankees achieved their primary objective of the offseason after re-signing Cody Bellinger last month. However, they have not made any other major additions to their roster as yet. The Yankees fans accuse the front office of running the team back from last year since they have mostly focused on renewing expiring contracts and handing out pre-arbitration deals. According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the New York Yankees are keen to bring back Austin Slater into the clubhouse for the 2026 season. They reportedly made the outfielder a one-year, $1 million offer on Thursday. Slater bounced around the MLB over the past couple of seasons, playing for five different organizations during this period. “The Yankees have made a one year, $1M offer to Austin Slater according to Jon Heyman,” Everything Yankees posted on X. Slater signed a one-year, $1.75 million contract with the Chicago White Sox ahead of the 2025 campaign. They traded him to the Yankees at the deadline after getting 11 home runs with a 100 OPS+ for the team in 51 games. However, Slater made little impression in New York, going 3-25 in his 14 appearances for the team, so it’s rather surprising they want a reunion with him. The 22-year-old lost his spot in the lineup last year as Trent Grisham delivered a stellar campaign to seal his berth on the team. So, the Yankees may decide to use their former top prospect as a trade chip this offseason to fill other needs on their roster. “It’s not exactly up to the Yankees to worry about Domínguez’s future. If they see him as a valuable bench player, or if they want him as injury insurance, that’s their prerogative. But at this point in his career, the former top prospect likely would be better served by playing every day in the majors,” Kuty wrote. That was the Yankees’ plan for him last year until Grisham proved he could be an everyday threat at the plate, eating into Dominguez’s playing time. Would another team consider now the right time to “buy” on Domínguez in exchange for help the Yankees may need elsewhere?” Kuty wrote. In spite of making his MLB debut in 2023, Dominguez only exceeded rookie status last year, as huge injuries hampered his development in the MLB. He played 20 games in a season for only the first time in 2025. Dominguez hit .257/.331/.388 in his first full season for the Yankees with 10 home runs, 23 stolen bases, and a 101 OPS+.
