The New Orleans Saints Hold a Five-Minute Prayer for Cornerback Kris Boyd After He Was Attacked by an Aggressive Fan While Trying to Defend the Honor of the NFL. The Video of the Incident Has Left the Entire Football Community Outraged
New Orleans, Louisiana. 18/11/2025
Tuesday morning’s New Orleans Saints practice began under an unusually somber atmosphere. There were no loud warmups, no familiar energy. Instead, the entire team walked onto the field and quickly gathered at midfield to hold a full five-minute prayer for Kris Boyd, the NFL cornerback who is currently hospitalized after being attacked by an aggressive individual.

According to witnesses, Boyd was attacked while trying to defend the honor of the NFL and the values he has always upheld. The aggressor hurled insults, mocked the teams Boyd respected and verbally degraded the brotherhood of the league. Boyd remained calm and simply asked the person to respect the players, respect the sport and respect the things he had dedicated his entire career to protecting. His peaceful response only angered the individual, who then lashed out violently, leaving Boyd in need of emergency medical care.

The incident deeply affected the Saints locker room. As soon as the team learned of the situation, players unanimously decided to hold a prayer together before practice. They stood shoulder to shoulder, placed their helmets on the ground and bowed their heads in complete silence for five minutes. It was a simple moment, but one that symbolized the unity of an entire football brotherhood.
Team captain Demario Davis spoke afterward.
“Anyone who knows Kris knows what kind of man he is. The fact that he was attacked for standing up for the honor of the people who play this game really broke our hearts. Five minutes of prayer may be short, but the love behind it is not.”
Tyrann Mathieu led the closing prayer, asking God to protect Boyd, strengthen his family and guide the doctors caring for him. Many players also wrote “K.B.” on their wrist tape as a personal sign of support.
After practice, the Saints sent a collective letter to Boyd’s family and expressed their willingness to help in any way necessary.
That morning in New Orleans was not just another practice. It was a powerful reminder of brotherhood, compassion and respect for a man who stood up to defend the dignity of the sport he loves.
