Time Update: 49ers vs. Rams – Kickoff Slightly Adjusted for Solemn Tribute

Santa Clara, California – Week 10, 2025 NFL Season

According to information from NFL Network, the matchup between the San Francisco 49ers (6-3) and Los Angeles Rams (6-2) at Levi's® Stadium is expected to be delayed 15 minutes, from 1:25 PM PST to 1:40 PM PST, to hold a memorial for young star Marshawn Kneeland – the Dallas Cowboys defensive player who suddenly passed away at age 24.

This decision is currently under review by the NFL and both teams before official announcement, but both the 49ers and Rams have already expressed support. If approved, the memorial will take place right before kickoff, including a moment of silence, images of Kneeland shown on the jumbotron, along with the tribute message: “Forever in Our Hearts – #94 Marshawn Kneeland.”

Marshawn Kneeland, known as one of the Cowboys’ most promising young players, was not only outstanding for his on-field skills but also for his humble character and admirable determination. His passing has left deep pain in the hearts of fans, teammates, and the entire NFL community. Many teams, including the 49ers, Rams, Patriots, and Bills, have sent official condolences.

George Kittle, tight end of the San Francisco 49ers, shared in the pre-game press conference: “Marshawn is a part of the NFL family – we don’t just remember him as a player, but as someone who lived with all the passion for football. Moments like this make us realize that what connects us is not just the field, but humanity.”

The memorial at Levi's® Stadium is expected to have NFL representatives in attendance, with the message broadcast over the PA system: “Even if we don’t share the same field, sharing will always connect us.” Fans are encouraged to wear black armbands or scarves as a symbol of remembrance.

Though the time change may cause slight schedule disruption, both the 49ers Faithful and Rams Nation communities wholeheartedly support it. One fan shared on social media: “15 minutes doesn’t make the game less – it only makes us appreciate more those who have dedicated themselves to this sport.”

The game will still be broadcast live on FOX with the commentary trio of Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Tracy Wolfson. The atmosphere at Levi's® Stadium is expected to be somber and emotional in the opening minutes – not just a battle for NFC West supremacy, but an afternoon of compassion and unfading memories.
