BREAKING: Bears Among Top Landing Spots for Former $141 Million Future Hall of Fame Pass Rusher

Posted Jan 28, 2026

Chicago, Illinois – January 2026

Chicago Bears are reportedly one of the top landing spots for Khalil Mack, a former $141 million edge rusher, as he is set to hit free agency in the spring. The 34-year-old player, widely regarded as a future Hall of Famer, is expected to be a top target for teams looking to add a veteran pass rusher to their roster, and the Bears could be the perfect fit.

After spending the past few years with the Los Angeles Chargers, Mack had a solid 2025 season, recording 5.5 sacks and 39 quarterback pressures. While Mack may not be the dominant force he once was, he remains a top-tier pass rusher and a leader with invaluable experience, potentially providing a significant boost to the Bears' defense, which is on the rise.

According to Zachary Pereles from CBS Sports, the Bears could be the most likely destination for Mack.

“Mack returns to Chicago, where he starred from 2018-2021. The Bears need to boost their pass rush without spending too much, and Mack fits that perfectly,” Pereles said. The Bears have the salary cap flexibility to bring Mack in without making a massive financial commitment, making him a sensible option for a team looking to bolster its defense without overspending.

The Bears have shown strong defensive potential under head coach Mike Macdonald, but Mack could provide the veteran presence needed for a group of young, developing pass rushers. His leadership and ability to disrupt opposing quarterbacks would be a welcome addition, and his past success with the Bears makes him an ideal candidate to return to Chicago.

However, the Bears won’t be the only team competing for Mack. Other teams like the Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers, and Seattle Seahawks are also interested. The Bengals may need a replacement for Trey Hendrickson, the Panthers have multiple defensive needs, and the Seahawks have the cap space to make a big splash signing.

Bears is my old home, where I spent some of the most important years of my career. Even though I’ve been away, Chicago has always been in my heart. Coming back here is not just an opportunity to contribute to the team but a homecoming journey. I believe I can bring strength and experience to help the Bears go further, and if given the chance, I’ll do everything I can to help the team achieve great things,” Mack shared.

For Mack, the final decision will depend on the role he’s offered and which team is best positioned to contend for a Super Bowl in the years ahead. But as the Bears continue their pursuit of a championship, they remain one of the most attractive landing spots for this veteran pass rusher.

Bears Media Representative Jessica Johnson Stirs Social Media with 7-Word Statement After Husband Ben Johnson Misses NFL Honors 2026 Finalists
Chicago, Illinois The NFL Honors 2026 race took an unexpected twist this week, as Jessica Johnson, the media representative for the Chicago Bears, sent shockwaves through social media with a powerful seven-word statement in the aftermath of her husband Ben Johnson’s omission from the official Coach of the Year finalists. The announcement left the football world buzzing, especially after the Bears’ head coach made a historic impact in his first year, leading the team from a 5-12 record to an impressive 11-6, capturing the NFC North title for the first time since 2018. While many thought Ben Johnson’s turnaround season deserved recognition, he finished a disappointing fourth in voting, with only one first-place vote, and ultimately lost out to New England Patriots’ head coach Mike Vrabel. Jessica’s response, however, did not go unnoticed. During a Thursday interview, she delivered a succinct, yet deeply emotional message that captured the essence of loyalty, pride, and support in the face of what many deemed a snub. #Bears HC Ben Johnson came in fourth place in Coach of the Year voting, finishing with 1 first-place vote among 50 votersIt was gonna be tough for him to beat out Vrabel, but wish he got more credit from the voters. No matter what.” The seven words were simple, but the sentiment behind them was powerful. With no further explanation or context, Jessica’s message resonated deeply with Bears fans and the broader NFL community. Her statement became an instant viral sensation, as it embodied the unwavering support and pride she felt for her husband’s accomplishments, regardless of the formal recognition that had been denied. Ben Johnson built one of the best offenses in Bears history. He took a 5–12 team and won the NFC North. He unlocked Caleb Williams. He built a real culture and gave Chicago a team to believe in again. All that gets you ONE Coach of the Year vote? Something is off about this. pic.twitter.com/NCRh8qkz7v — Dave (@davebfr) February 6, 2026 Bears fans, and even some rival team supporters, rallied behind Jessica’s message, with many taking to social media to express their frustration over Ben Johnson’s omission. The overwhelming response highlighted not only the passion surrounding the Bears’ remarkable season but also the impact of Jessica’s words, which served as a reminder of the personal side of the game. While the Coach of the Year award may have slipped through Ben Johnson’s fingers, his ability to rally his team and change the course of the franchise remains undeniable. And with his wife’s heartfelt support echoing across the social media landscape, it’s clear that for Jessica Johnson, her husband’s efforts are already worthy of a victory in her eyes. As the NFL prepares for Super Bowl 60, one thing is certain: the Johnsons will continue to be a driving force for the Bears, with Jessica’s seven-word message acting as a rallying cry for what’s next.
